Complete the following challenges: 



  1. Math Facts to Memorize (100 points possible)


  1. Math Problems (500 points possible)


    • Each problem worth up to 10 points

  1. Math Literature / Book Report (100 points possible)
    • The Number Devil by Hans Enzensberger, or other teacher pre-approved choice
    • Biography or approved historical
      fiction related to an important scientist or scientific discovery, or
      other teacher pre-approved choice

       4.   Interview – (50 points possible each)

  • Prepare 10 questions to ask a scientist or mathematician, interview the professional and record their answers. (Please interview someone other than your parents. Write a summary of the experience.

 

  1. Science Facts to Memorize and be able to List or Explain (80 points possible)

    • MyPyramid.gov (draw the pyramid and include your MyPyramid) goals (20 points)

  1. At-Home Labs (up to 100 points possible)


    • Lab choices will be given out as we study each unit (20 points per lab)

  1. Technology Activities  (up to 120 points possible)


    • Create a “Hot List” on a math or science topic.  Find at least 10 websites that address this topic in informative, accurate and interesting ways Describe and evaluate each site (20 points per subject)

    • Create a PowerPoint tutorial on a math or science topic (20 points per subject)

    • Create a Thinking Map Portfolio on a math or science topic (20 points per subject)

  1. Science/Math Report - (Up to 150 points possible)
    • Endangered Species (50 points possible)
    • Special Number (See Special Number handout) (50 points possible)
    • Research Paper - Teacher approved math or science topic (50 points possible)
  1. Tessellation - Create an original tessellation (20 points possible)
  1. Albert Einstein: The Human Side - Crossword Puzzle (20 points possible)
  2. Science Field Trip - Visit a science exhibit, museum, or planetarium and record what you experienced (20 points possible)
  3. Contests - Participate in a math or science contest after school or on the weekend (20 points possible)
  4. Read the Totally Amazing Careers Books - Read and answer questions (30 points possible each)
  5. CSI Activities (30-50 points possible each)
